Metalsmithing 101: The Basics Intensive SEPT 13th and 14th
🔨 What You Will Learn
Metalsmithing 101: The Basics – Intensive is a concentrated beginner-friendly 16-hour workshop offered Saturday, Sept 13 & Sunday, Sept 14, 2025, at Ignite Jewelry Studios in downtown Asheville. Over two full days (9 AM–5 PM each), participants dive deep into foundational jewelry‑making skills: sawing, filing, polishing, soldering, bezel‑setting, texturing, and more. By the end of the intensive series, each student is expected to complete 2–3 finished pieces, and often many more depending on practice time.

Workshop Dates: Saturday & Sunday, Sept 13–14, 2025, 9 AM – 5 PM each day

After the workshop, participants receive four Open Studio sessions over the next four weeks (typically Wednesdays 10 AM–2 PM) to refine skills under instructor supervision

You’ll create at least one polished piece—ring, pendant, or custom jewelry—while receiving hands-on guidance every step.
🖐️ Who Should Attend & What to Bring
Ideal for beginners or anyone curious about metalsmithing, this course requires no prior experience. It’s a fast-paced, tool-intensive format—some prior exposure to creative making helps, but all are welcome. Materials fee of $55 is payable separately at class, in addition to the $499 registration. You’ll be using studio tools and equipment—just bring your enthusiasm and readiness to learn.

Ignite Jewelry Studios offers a welcoming studio space in downtown Asheville at 84 W Walnut Street Unit A. The studio features weekly workshops, gallery exhibitions, and a community of local artists working across metalsmithing and jewelry design.
