Sourwood Festival

Black Mountain Sourwood Festival

Since 1977, the Sourwood Festival has been a beloved summer tradition in historic Black Mountain, North Carolina.

What began as a local celebration of the sourwood honey harvest has grown into a vibrant, weekend-long event that draws more than 30,000 visitors each year.

Sourwood honey—harvested from the blossoms of the native sourwood tree found in the Southern Appalachian region—remains at the heart of the festival. But today, it’s much more than just honey.

The Sourwood Festival is a joyful celebration of arts, culture, crafts, music, and food.

With hundreds of vendors, live performances, a dedicated kid zone, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to experience the charm of Black Mountain and the creativity of the community.

Admission is free, and all are welcome to join us for this one-of-a-kind celebration in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
