Focus After Five: FABA Annual Meeting + Board Elections
FABA Focus After Five: Annual Meeting + Board Elections
FABA Focus After Five takes on extra importance this month as the Fletcher Area Business Association gathers for its 2026 Annual Meeting + Board Elections.
The event takes place Thursday, October 8 at 5:30 PM at Fletcher Town Hall and brings together FABA members for an evening of business networking, organizational updates, and an opportunity to help shape the association’s future leadership.
Focus After Five is normally a relaxed way to connect with other business owners and professionals in the Fletcher area. This October gathering keeps that networking spirit while adding an important annual responsibility: reviewing where FABA has been, looking ahead to the coming year, and electing members to serve on the Board of Directors.
Business Networking with a Purpose
Business networking is at the heart of FABA, but the Annual Meeting adds another layer to the evening.
Members can reconnect with familiar faces, meet other local business leaders, and strengthen relationships while also participating in decisions that affect the organization itself.
FABA represents more than 150 businesses and describes its mission as helping businesses and organizations grow and remain sustainable through networking events, professional development, and charitable giving that supports the local community.
That makes the Annual Meeting an opportunity to do more than exchange business cards. It is a chance to take part in the direction of a local organization built around business growth and community connection.
Four Board Positions Are Up for Election
Four positions on the FABA Board of Directors are scheduled for election this year:
Vice President
Secretary
Community Relations
Events Chair
FABA’s Board helps guide the organization’s mission, supports the business community, develops events and programs, and helps determine where the association goes next.
Members attending the meeting will have the opportunity to meet the candidates who have stepped forward to serve and cast their votes in the 2026 Board Elections.
Looking Back and Looking Ahead
The Annual Meeting is also a time to review FABA’s progress over the past year.
Members can hear updates and insights about the organization while gaining a clearer picture of current priorities and future plans. FABA’s work extends beyond networking events to professional development, member visibility, online resources, business promotion, collaboration, and community-focused programs.
That broader perspective can help members better understand the role FABA plays in strengthening the Fletcher-area business community.
Why Board Leadership Matters
Volunteer leadership is an important part of keeping a business association active, relevant, and connected to its members.
FABA’s Board includes business owners and local leaders who bring their experience, ideas, and community knowledge to the organization. Board members help organize events, support communication, encourage membership engagement, and connect FABA’s mission with the needs of local businesses.
Choosing new board members gives the membership a direct voice in deciding who will help guide that work during the next term.
Connect with the Fletcher Business Community
FABA events are designed to create practical opportunities for business owners and professionals to build meaningful relationships.
Programs such as Focus After Five and Coffee Club give members places to meet, exchange ideas, share resources, and build partnerships. The association also provides professional development, digital business tools, directory exposure, and other resources designed to increase visibility and strengthen local businesses.
For established members, the Annual Meeting is a chance to reconnect with the organization behind those programs. For newer members, it is an opportunity to better understand how FABA works and how they can become more involved.
