The therapeutic power of dance under the open sky has been treasured for millennia. So here we go with the Spring Ecstatic Dance right in downtown Asheville!

Essentials:

– Doors open at 4:30pm.
– Rain or shine, it’s on!
– StarTribe dances are drug, smoke, and alcohol free.
– Bring your own water, and prepare to sweat.
– For children ten and under, please bring sound protective ear muffs and keep them with you at all times – for the safety of our young StarTribers!

Illusion of Duality

The Illusion of Duality can be found somewhere in between the Bass & the Treble… This alchemical artist has been on a musical journey since birth to truly re-discover his sound. Born & raised on the west coast playing strings, percussion & keys, The Illusion of Duality honed his craft on the decks far before electronic music was popular in the early 2000’s. With the use of frequency embedded in a universe of rhythm he navigates between the Darkness & the Light to bridge the gap between electronic and organic. On the dance floor, his worldly sound will guide you on an ever evolving adventure of downtempo bass, medicine house and pure vibes sure to lead you “home”. Beyond the good or the evil, to a place where we are all ONE.

Osiah

Osiah is a dance doula – an ecstatic dancer turned DJ with a deep love for crafting ecstatic dance medicine journeys that break through the limiting ideas as to what “spiritual” is supposed to look and sound like. His mixes don’t play by the rules. They are deep, bass-rich, soul-expanding, multi-genre, feeling-inducing meditations bringing in a full spectrum of e-motions that synchronistically match the vibe-sense context of the present moment at hand.

Fiddlehead

Unfurling like a mysterious dancing fern in a gentle Appalachian breeze…not unlike the Fibonacci spiral, only found deep in a mystical temperate rainforest, Fiddlehead pops up and emerges from the undergrowth with exotic frequencies from all around the great Turtle Island. This particular dancing fern grows with a strong intention to channel healing and transformation through the potent medicina of music and dance. The complex layers and waves take us on a journey through the interwoven mycelial networks, deep into the core of Pacha Mama and the deepest oceans, to the streets of Berlin, out into the dense rainforests of the Amazon, to the vast deserts of the far East and highest peaks of the Andes, to the Celtic highlands, Appalachians, Cascades, Sierras, and Misty Mountains of Middle-Earth. Fiddlehead’s flow is inspired by a lifetime of deep connection to nature, ceramic art, teaching, ceremony, world travel, and a passionate study and full immersion in a plethora of musical genres since early childhood.
