Homeless Support Services

Homelessness Prevention

Each year, more than 3,000 households in crisis receive assistance from the Bush Family Refuge to avoid homelessness. Annually, over 250 households receive emergency support for rent and utilities.

Ending Homelessness

Since 2007, the Resource Center has successfully helped over 1,280 of Knoxville's most vulnerable individuals break free from homelessness, providing them with a secure place to live. Currently, 93% of these individuals have been able to maintain stable housing for a year or longer.

Reaching The Most Vulnerable

Every year, VMC's Street Outreach Program actively engages with and assists hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness and living on the streets of Knoxville. The goal is to connect them with vital housing services.

Housing Focused Emergency Overnight Shelter

The Foyer is a housing-focused emergency shelter that offers overnight accommodations for 30 individuals. It is a low-barrier shelter that prioritizes assisting the most vulnerable homeless individuals who do not utilize traditional shelter services.

Permanent Supportive Housing

Minvilla Manor consists of 57 apartments designed specifically for formerly chronically homeless individuals with disabilities. The average duration of residency for residents at Minvilla Manor is 5 years.

Dental Care for the Homeless and Low Income

Our Dental Clinic provides comprehensive dental care, free of charge, to homeless and low-income individuals in our community. Each year, the Dental Clinic serves over 1,000 patients and performs more than 1,500 dental procedures.
