Did you know that Asheville, NC is home to 83% more LGBTQ+ individuals than any other city in the country? As Ashevillians, we pride ourselves on the “weirdom and queerdom” in our eclectic WNC city, and we have an opportunity too good to pass up to celebrate our colorful diversity.
The lead sponsor, Z Wood Media, is only $800 from its fundraising goal of $1,800 to host SIX FREE family-friendly drag shows this summer, and your sponsorship of as little as $100 gets us closer to our goal so we don’t have to make these ticketed events. The $1,800 will pay the performers and DJs, as well as provide refreshments for our performers backstage.
We are asking our local businesses to help support these events which are normally at 11pm at a bar, and parents with small children can’t easily go out to enjoy a show and support our local performers. As an Asheville small business, this is your chance to help provide these opportunities for parents and kids alike to see the beauty and awe of performances that are the historic backbone of the LGBTQ+ rights movement.
Along with your sponsorship, we encourage you to attend each event to table with swag and of course invite your family and friends! All sponsors will be announced and thanked at the beginning and end of each event. We will have a host and three performers at each show.
All performers have been booked, so let’s make this happen!
The great news is we have already gained $1,000 in sponsorships from Blue Ridge Pride and the Matt & Molly Team realty company. Additionally, Benjy Greene, owner of Banks Ave, has agreed to host all six events (a value of $3,600). Our other sponsors include Fruit Basket Entertainment and Red Tail Impressions.
All shows are on Saturdays from 12pm to 2pm on the following dates:

We have 16 different talented individuals performing at these events, so be sure to attend them all for wholesome, family-oriented entertainment showing the variety within the drag community.

Any funds provided beyond the $1,800 goal will be donated to Youth OUTright and Tranzmission. Audience members can also donate to these two amazing organizations during each of the six shows.
