The Healing Approach
A Bottom-Up Model
Full healing from past hurts requires attention to and care for every part of ourselves—the wounds from pain and stress show up in our bodies. Mental health experts are increasingly insisting that trauma treatment must include the body. Many types of traditional therapy rely on a cognitive or “top-down” approach to treatment, whereas A Mindful Emergence utilize a “bottom-up” approach that draws on somatic experience as an entryway into our inner life.
